Reference Web Sites

*ALA’s Great Web Site for Kids organizes information into such subject areas as animals, literature & languages, the arts, history & biography, mathematics and computers, social sciences, sciences, and more. This site has a featured site of the month.

*Fact Monster offers homework help and online reference for elementary students.

High School Ace is a free online interactive learning center for H.S. students. There are subject guides for English, foreign languages, math, science, and social studies. Kids Hub and Middle School Hub are sister sites of High School Hub.

*HomeworkNow is a 24/7 service offering homework help from librarians, "the original information experts." It includes live, online professional tutors from 2 p.m.-Midnight. At the end of each session, the student will receive an email that includes links to all online resources suggested. HomeworkNow is provided by the State Library of Ohio and Cuyahoga County Public Library.

Homework Planet makes it easy for students to find great homework and research resources, tutoring services, reference tools, learning games, content experts, college information and more. (temporarily unavailable)

*Homework Spot has a collection of links to topics commonly given as homework including literature, math, science and the social sciences. The links are further broken down by grade level. Even the "study break" links lead to educational games.

*Internet Public Library is a collection of links to other references available on the web. The collections are divided by grade level for grades 3 (KidSpace) to adult.

Multnomah County Library Homework Center is a wonderful resource of almost 30 subject area links to assist students with their homework including Social Issues covering gun control, capital punishment, drug abuse, etc.

Pinchbeck’s Homework Helper is a part of the Discovery School site. Containing more than 700 links to help students with their homework, this is a prize-winning site.

School Work Ugh! is a well organized, simple to use site with links to numerous other sites.
