Everything is changing in education--learning standards, teaching strategies, educational tools, even assessments.
And in the Parma City Schools, we're changing the way we interact with families too.
The "Academic Parent Teacher Teams" initiative is transforming the Parent Teacher Conference (PTC) process by extending the school learning community to the home. This process includes orienting parents to the changes taking place in education and developing family capacity to support their children's academic process by linking home and school learning. Explore the links at left to learn more.
The Parma City School District is proud to be the first district in Ohio to implement this family engagement model, which is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education. This initiative is made possible through competitive funding through the State of Ohio's Straight A grant.
